Wisconsin Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Business Ethics and Integrity winner in 2005 and 2010 — the only full-service financial advisory firm to win not once, but twice! The Wisconsin Better Business Bureau Business Ethics Torch Awards were created in 2002 to showcase ethical Wisconsin companies and charities that build trust, advertise honestly, tell the truth, remain transparent and honor their promises. Participants are measured for ethics, excellence, fairness and responsibility, and are evaluated by an independent panel of prestigious judges from business and academic communities throughout the state.
International Better Business Bureau Torch Award Finalist in 2006. The BBB International Torch Awards program recognizes outstanding businesses and individuals in several categories stemming from superior commitment to exceptional standards that benefit their consumers, employees, suppliers, shareholders and surrounding communities.
Karen Ellenbecker received the Waukesha Branch NAACP Community Award in 2010. Each year at the NAACP Waukesha Freedom Fund Dinner, a business owner or an executive of a company is recognized and honored for their successful leadership in the community and their efforts to raise the level of business practices, integrity and ethics in Wisconsin. Ellenbecker Investment Group was recognized as one of those businesses in the community whose firm was founded based upon the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence. Through her “Money Sense” radio show, Karen Ellenbecker has spent more then 20 years making financial education accessible to the Greater Milwaukee region. She is to be commended for her commitment to education, ethical business practices, client services and community involvement.
Milwaukee Magazine FIVE STAR Wealth Manager/Best in Client Satisfaction, 2009 and 2010. Milwaukee Magazine formed a partnership with Crescendo Business Services to find out which wealth managers scored highest in overall satisfaction, in a survey of approximately 1 in 5 high-net-worth households within the Milwaukee area, as well as financial services industry professionals. Wealth managers were evaluated on nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. Both positive and negative evaluations were included in the scoring. Only wealth managers with five years of experience in the financial services industry were considered. Each wealth manager was also reviewed for actions and complaints, and then reviewed by blue ribbon panel of individuals from within the financial services industry.
Waukesha County Chamber – BizTimes Milwaukee Top Ten Small Business 2001 and 2010. Presented by the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce and BizTimes Milwaukee, the annual program salutes businesses that have shown financial growth, employee growth, commitment to customer focus, employee relations and community service.
Wisconsin Corporate Citizenship Award Honoree, Corporate Report Wisconsin, 2008. In recognition of companies that go above and beyond the normal bounds of business with extraordinary acts of corporate citizenship in Wisconsin.
Small Business Success Story Awards Winner, Corporate Report Wisconsin/UW Oshkosh College of Business/Associated Bank, 2007. Honoring small businesses for traits such as overcoming adversity, innovation, adapting effectively to new market conditions, and demonstrating a desire to create something more than a way to generate wealth for themselves. Basically, going above and beyond to create something greater than expected.
Karen Ellenbecker was honored as a Woman of Distinction in 2008. This award, presented by the Women and Girls Fund of the Waukesha County Community Foundation recognizes women who demonstrate leadership, professional excellence, community involvement and act as a role model to other women. The inscription on the award reads, “The Waukesha County Community Foundation honors the extraordinary women who have cultivated growth, volunteerism and community leadership in Waukesha County.”
