Stand Together As One
Directed by Chip Duncan
Forty years after the recording of "We Are The World", this film reveals what’s possible when creatives come together for a common cause. When drought hit Ethiopia in 1983, millions of people in the war-ravaged nation were denied food relief, causing famine. The film tells the story behind Kenyan photojournalist Mohamed Amin and BBC correspondents Michael Buerk and Mike Wooldridge as they overcame government restrictions and civil war to document the crisis. Their work inspired musician-activists Harry Belafonte and Bob Geldof as they engineered humanitarian relief through groundbreaking recordings when several musicians chose to stand together as one to create "We Are The World".
