Jean’s passion is working with individuals, whether it is in a corporate setting or in our family office. In either setting, she specializes in strengthening an individual’s level of understanding of their investments, the markets and retirement projections. When working in a corporate environment, Jean provides value, credibility and understanding to employee benefits by engaging employees through a customized workshop. In addition, Jean meets with employees to further assist them with any planning or retirement paperwork that they may need. When working with clients, Jean continues her focus of education. Her goal is to deepen relationships to help individuals not just retire, but retire comfortably.
Prior to joining Ellenbecker Investment Group in 2009, Jean was employed at Ernst & Young for seven years in their Personal Financial Counseling group, providing one-on-one retirement and survivor counseling, as well as financial planning software and process training. Previously, she was a Vice President at Robert W. Baird & Co. where she was the manager of the Financial Planning Department. Jean provided financial planning services to the firm’s team of investment advisors and was also significantly involved in the customization and rollout of financial planning tools for the advisors. During her fifteen years at Robert W. Baird & Co., Jean also traded fixed income products.
Jean has successfully passed the FINRA Series 7 General Securities Representative exam, Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law exam and Series 65 Uniform Investment Adviser Law exam, as well as obtaining Health and Life Insurance licenses. She has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 1993 after completing educational course requirements in Financial Planning, Retirement Planning, Tax Planning, Estate Planning, and Insurance Planning.
Jean is a graduate of University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and is an active member of the Financial Planning Association of Southern Wisconsin.
When she is not speaking at a seminar or meeting with clients, Jean can be found enriching her artistic talents with her daughter, Libby, as they relax in front of an easel and paint. Jean’s house is often filled with the sound of music as her husband, Carl, and Libby practice their guitar music. PJ, their Teddy Bear dog, is a proud four-legged member of their family who loves spending time with his adoring family.
